RLT’s next events - ON PAUSE

Dear Art Lovers,

For the first time in almost three years, Rīga’s gallery evening - Rīga Last Thursdays - is taking a break. This season, not a single project we submitted to the Rīga City Council and the State Culture Capital Fund competitions was supported. Therefore, we unfortunately are unable to provide you with a gallery walk this month.

Our project has brought together 56 contemporary art galleries, cultural venues and art centres. Every month up to 1,500 people celebrate art by participating and visiting RLT.

We are currently focusing on finding new partners to help us continue the event. We would be truly grateful for your participation in supporting us. In the meantime, we would like to share our manifesto to highlight our vision and goals for the arts scene.

Riga Last Thursdays: A Manifesto

We envision a city where contemporary art events stand proudly alongside other cultural events, celebrated and appreciated by all.

We advocate for fair compensation, ensuring that art workers are recognised and rewarded for their contributions.

We believe in the sustainability of contemporary art in our city, creating a legacy of artistic excellence for future generations.

We believe in the transformative power of culture, enriching society, fueling creativity, and driving economic growth.

We believe in investing in the next generation of artists, providing a platform for emerging talent to showcase their work and gain recognition.

We believe in the economic benefits of cultural events, attracting visitors, stimulating local businesses, and contributing to the city's vitality.

We believe in elevating Rīga's status as a cultural hub, attracting tourists, investors, and new residents by supporting the arts.

We believe in the power of our city to support initiatives that enhance its cultural landscape and add immeasurable value to our community.

If you support our goals, please sign our manifesto at ISSP (Tue-Fri), M/Darbnīca (Wed-Sat), or Zuzeum (Tue-Sun) from June 18th to 30th, 2024. Your signature will help Riga Last Thursdays gather crucial data on the importance of our objectives and demonstrate the backing we need to secure financial partnerships. Join us in creating a lasting impact.

While RLT is on a break, we invite you to enjoy the summer and continue supporting Riga’s exciting art galleries. Don’t forget to visit them!

If you’d like to learn about the benefits of becoming our new partner, please send us an email, and you can always support us via Patreon.

Until the next time!

The RLT Team
