LV: Madara Gulbis "Debesu sajūta" [Tikšanās ar mākslinieku] 

"Debesis, debesu skati, debesu sajūta. Turp vēršam skatienus, gūstot prieku, mieru, domas skaidrību. Kas ir tas spēks, kas liek mums lūkoties augšup? Seno laiku paradums? Ilgas? Intuitīva atbalsta meklēšana gaismas virzienā? Debesu skaistums un nepārtrauktā mainība?

Telpa ap zemi ir tas, ko mēs saucam par debesi, debesīm. No horizonta līdz horizontam. Un gaisma ir tā, kuru no turienes saņemam. Gaisma, kas māksliniekam ir viens no galvenajiem vizuālās izteiksmes līdzekļiem. Mitoloģijā un reliģijā Debess ir dievību mājvieta. Un patiesi – varbūt tās ir varenākas un iedarbīgākas nekā mums, zemes dzīvi dzīvojot, varētu ienākt prātā? 

Izstādē “Debesu sajūta” esmu dažādos veidos “runājusi” par lauku un telpu ap mums, kuru saucam par debesīm. Par iekšējo un ārējo debesu sajūtu. Lai arī izmantoju abstraktās glezniecības izteiksmes līdzekļus, kompozīciju bieži balstu uz redzēto, piedzīvoto. Mani interesē uzgleznot to, ko attēlot vai izstāstīt vārdos nav iespējams. Lai tomēr to izdarītu, jāatsakās no liekā un nebūtiskā, formas un satura lakonisms rada šo abstrakto gleznojumu." 

Madara Gulbis

Madara Gulbis ir dzimusi rīdziniece, mācījusies Jaņa Rozentāla Rīgas mākslas vidusskolā jau no 11 gadu vecuma, 1994. gadā ieguvusi Mākslas bakalaura grādu glezniecībā Latvijas Mākslas akadēmijā, bet mākslas maģistra grādu – 1996. gadā. Kopš 1997. gada ir Latvijas Mākslinieku savienības biedre. Izstādēs piedalās kopš 1993. gada. Viņas darbi ir pabijuši izstādēs Norvēģijā, Somijā, Zviedrijā, Vācijā, Beļģijā, Portugālē, Polijā, Aizerbaidžānā, Lietuvā, Igaunijā, Ēģiptē, Korejā un Itālijā. Madarai Gulbis bijušas 27 personālizstādes Latvijā, Zviedrijā, Vācijā un Polijā.

"The sky, the views of the sky, the feeling of the sky. We turn our gaze up there, looking for joy, peace, clarity of thought. What is the force that makes us look up? An ancient custom? Longing? Intuitive search for support in the direction of the light? The beauty of heaven and its constant change?

The space around the Earth is what we call heaven. From horizon to horizon. And the light is what we get from there. Light, which is one of the main means of visual expression for the artist. In mythology and religion, Heaven is the abode of deities. And really – maybe they are more powerful and influential than we, living the earthly life, could think of?

In the exhibition The Sense of Heaven I have talked in different ways about the countryside and the space around us, which we call heaven. About the feeling of inner and outer heaven. Although I use the means of expression of abstract painting, I often base the composition on what I have seen and experienced. I am interested in painting what is impossible to picture. However, in order to do this, the superfluous and the non-essential must be abandoned, the laconicism of form and content creates this abstract painting." 

Madara Gulbis

Madara Gulbis was born in Riga, studied at Janis Rozentāls Riga Art High School from the age of 11, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in painting from the Latvian Academy of Arts in 1994, and a Master of Arts degree in 1996. Since 1997, she has been a member of the Artists' Union of Latvia. Participates in exhibitions since 1993. Her works have been exhibited in Norway, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Estonia, Egypt, Korea and Italy. Madara Gulbis has had 27 personal exhibitions in Latvia, Sweden, Germany and Poland.
