LV: Linda Vilka "Mēs drīkstam nogurt" [Tikšanās ar mākslinieku]

Lindas Vilkas 400 tūkstošu kristālu klātajā domu kartē atmirdz radošu impulsu sērija, iezīmējot pārslēgšanos starp fiziskiem un mentāliem skatupunktiem dažādās noguruma stadijās. Pārvarēto distanci var mērīt vairākos simtos kilometru, ko mērojusi roka, pārvietojot ik katru kristālu no trauka līdz tam paredzētajam kvadrātmilimetram uz auduma virsmas. Attālināšanās palīdz izkristalizēt domas. Tuvināšanās ļauj pievērsties to detalizētai analīzei. Apvienojot darbu sēriju, kurai māksliniece piešķīrusi apzīmējumu “dažāda izmēra secinājumi”, izstāde kalpo kā atklāsme par noguruma klātsesamību kā neatņemamu dzīves sastāvdaļu un atkopšanos no tā.

Linda Vilka (1995) ir multidisciplināra māksliniece un stāstu veidotāja, kura mākslas izglītību apguvusi Latvijā, Lietuvā, Nīderlandē un turpina studijas LMA profesionālajā doktorantūrā. Māksliniece strādā ar atmiņu, tās fiksācijas nozīmīgumu un uzmanības piesaisti lauku teritorijām. Līdz šim nozīmīgākie projekti radīti par dzimto Tārgales pagasta pusi, kur ienesti kopienas mākslas un vides kūrēšanas aspekti laikmetīgās mākslas pieejamības vairošanai, kā arī ierastās lauku rutīnas nojaukšanai. Savus novērojumus Linda Vilka izklāsta instalācijās, video darbos un performatīvās darbībās publiskajā vidē, tam visam cauri vijot tekstuālo formu – abstraktas un reizēm visai absurdas frāzes un rindas, kuras visbiežāk fiksētas no apkārtējās vides, cilvēkiem un izdzīvotajām situācijām.

A series of creative impulses shimmer on Linda Vilka's 400,000 crystal-covered mind map, marking the shift between physical and mental perspectives at different stages of tiredness. The distance covered can be measured in hundreds of kilometres, as the hand moves each crystal from the container to its intended square millimetre on the surface of the fabric. Distancing helps to crystallise thoughts. Getting closer allows us to focus on their detailed analysis. Bringing together a series of works to which the artist has given the label "conclusions in different sizes", the exhibition serves as a revelation about the presence of exhaustion as an integral part of life and the recovery from it.

Linda Vilka (1995) is a multidisciplinary artist and storyteller who received her art education in Latvia, Lithuania, and the Netherlands and continues her studies at the LMA in the professional doctoral programme. She works with memory, the importance of its fixation and attention to rural territories. Her most significant projects to date have been created in her home parish of Tārgale, where she has brought in aspects of community art and environmental curation to increase the accessibility of contemporary art, as well as to disrupt the usual rural routine. Linda Vilka presents her observations in installations, video works and performative actions in the public environment, weaving through it all a textual form - abstract and sometimes quite absurd phrases and lines, most often recorded from the surrounding environment, people and lived situations.
